A Lifetime of Leadership

Are you born to lead, or do you learn to lead? It’s both! There’s something different in the DNA of a gifted leader that makes them want the responsibility. But desire only goes so far. You have to work hard to continuously improve. Are you ready to work? Good! You’ve come to the right place.

As the oldest of three boys, I embraced my calling to be a leader at a young age. I accepted the responsibility to be a role model and protector. No one had to sit me down to explain it. It became who I am.

Throughout my school years, in sports and in academics, I sought opportunities to represent the teams and groups to which I belonged. I watched and listened to my most respected coaches, teachers, and mentors. I read about great leaders and sought to imitate them.

When I entered the working world, nothing changed. Whenever groups were formed, formally and informally, I was usually chosen to lead them. I joined associations where I learned to communicate effectively, to process information to make decisions in the face of uncertainty, and to build and lead teams that were motivated and genuinely cared for each other.
